From downtown Aspen, Aspen Mountain is easily accessible on foot. Head east on Durant Avenue towards the Gondola Plaza. The entrance to the Silver Queen Gondola is located at the end of Durant Avenue. This is a straightforward, short walk. No costs are associated with walking.

The Roaring Fork Transportation Authority (RFTA) provides free bus service around Aspen. Several bus routes stop near Aspen Mountain. Check the RFTA website or app for the most up-to-date schedules and routes. The bus is free within Aspen.

Taxis and ride-sharing services like Uber and Lyft are readily available in Aspen. A short taxi ride from anywhere in downtown Aspen to the base of Aspen Mountain typically costs around $10-$15, excluding surge pricing.

Parking
Parking near Aspen Mountain is limited. Metered parking is available on the streets of downtown Aspen, with a maximum of 4 hours. The Rio Grande Parking Plaza offers covered parking a few blocks from the gondola, with rates of $2 for the first hour, $4 for two hours, $6 for three hours, and a daily maximum of $12. Parking is free from 5 PM to 5 AM, as well as on Sundays and holidays. From the Rio Grande Parking Plaza, you can catch the free Galena Street Shuttle to Aspen Mountain.
