Car
If you're driving, start from the city of Colorado Springs and take U.S. Highway 24 West. After approximately 12 miles, turn left onto Pikes Peak Highway. Follow the Pikes Peak Highway for about 19 miles until you reach the summit. The road has several scenic overlooks where you can stop and enjoy the views. Be aware that there is an entrance fee of $15 per vehicle for up to 5 passengers. Larger vehicles may have a higher fee.
Public Transportation
For those using public transportation, you can take a bus from Colorado Springs to the Pikes Peak region. First, take the Mountain Metro Transit bus to the Manitou Springs area. From there, you can catch the Pikes Peak Cog Railway or arrange for a shuttle service that operates to the summit during peak seasons. Note that the Cog Railway has its own ticket prices, which vary depending on the season and time of booking, so check in advance.
Shuttle Service
During the warmer months, shuttle services may be available from various locations in Colorado Springs and Manitou Springs directly to Pikes Peak Summit. These shuttles often include round-trip fares, so check local listings for schedules and pricing. Reservations may be required during peak tourist seasons. Ensure to confirm the pick-up and drop-off locations as these can vary.
