Rosemount Museum: A Glimpse into Victorian Pueblo

Constructed in 1893 for John A. and Margaret Thatcher, this 24,000-square-foot mansion boasts 37 rooms filled with original furnishings, decorative arts, and personal belongings of the Thatcher family. The museum's design, by New York architect Henry Hudson Holly, features pink Rhyolite volcanic rock on the exterior and a variety of woods inside, including cherry, mahogany, maple, and oak. The house is located on a square block in north Pueblo, across the street from Parkview Medical Center. Visitors can explore the mansion's elegant rooms, including the Andrew McClelland collection of artifacts gathered from around the world, including an Egyptian mummy. The Rosemount Museum offers guided tours that delve into the history of the Thatcher family and their impact on Pueblo's development. The Carriage House, a 6,000-square-foot building on the property, is available for rent for private events.
