Car
If you are traveling by car, head to the nearest major city, which is Denver, Colorado. From Denver, take I-70 W for approximately 20 miles. Take exit 256 for US-6 E toward Golden. Follow US-6 E, then merge onto Lookout Mountain Rd. Continue on Lookout Mountain Rd for about 4 miles until you reach Windy Saddle Park, which will be on your left. There are no tolls on this route, but parking may have a fee depending on the season.
Public Transportation
If you prefer public transportation, take the RTD light rail from Denver to Golden. Board the light rail at Union Station and ride to the Jefferson County Government Center stop. From there, transfer to the 16 bus towards Lookout Mountain, which will take you close to Lookout Mountain Rd. Get off at the nearest stop and walk approximately 1 mile up Lookout Mountain Rd to reach Windy Saddle Park. Be sure to check the RTD website for current schedules and fares, as they can vary.
Bicycle
For the more adventurous traveler, cycling to Windy Saddle Park is a possibility. You can bike from Golden by taking the Clear Creek Trail which connects to Lookout Mountain Rd.
