Heart Spring: Steamboat's Soothing Source

Heart Spring is a historic and naturally occurring hot spring located in the heart of Steamboat Springs, Colorado. For centuries, it has been a focal point for both locals and visitors seeking relaxation and healing. The spring produces approximately 220 gallons of 103-degree water per minute, which is then used to fill the various pools at the Old Town Hot Springs. Native American Ute Indians, the area's first inhabitants, revered the springs as sacred places for physical and spiritual healing, referring to them as "medicine springs". Later, the springs became a gathering place for early homesteaders. Today, Heart Spring continues to be a social and cultural hub, encouraging conversation and relaxation. The water from Heart Spring is rich in minerals such as lithium, boron, phosphate, potassium, and magnesium, contributing to the soothing and rejuvenating properties of the water. Soaking in these mineral-rich waters is believed to increase heart rate, stimulate metabolic rate, and promote overall relaxation. The original Heart Spring pool is limited to visitors 15 years of age and older.
