Discover more about Yampa River Botanic Park

Nestled in the heart of Steamboat Springs, the Yampa River Botanic Park offers a tranquil escape with its diverse collection of gardens and serene atmosphere. Beginning in 1995 as a flat horse pasture, the park has blossomed into a six-acre gem boasting over 60 unique gardens, ponds, berms, and winding paths. The park's creation is attributed to Bob and Audrey Enever, who sought to create a serene space for those unable to venture into the surrounding mountains. Their vision has resulted in a unique botanical garden that supports both alpine and desert plants, thanks to carefully designed microclimates. Visitors can explore themed gardens like the Butterfly Garden, Daylily Garden, and Pioneer Garden, each offering a distinct horticultural experience. Sculptures are placed throughout the gardens. The Yampa River Botanic Park is more than just a garden; it's a community hub. It hosts events like summer music festivals, theater performances, weddings, and yoga sessions. The park is maintained and funded by a volunteer organization, relying on donations, memberships, and grants to keep it free and open to the public. Whether you're seeking a peaceful stroll, horticultural inspiration, or a venue for a special event, the Yampa River Botanic Park offers a delightful experience for all.
