Driving & Shuttle
From Breckenridge, drive approximately 8 miles south on Highway 9. Turn right onto Blue Lakes Road (County Road 850). During the summer (June 14 - September 14, 2025), parking at the trailhead requires a reservation made in advance at hikequandary.com. Reservations can be made up to two weeks in advance. Full-day parking (5am-3pm) costs $30 on non-peak days (Mon-Thurs, excluding holidays) and $55 on peak days (Fri-Sun and holidays). Alternatively, a shuttle service is available from the Breckenridge South Gondola parking garage. Round-trip shuttle fare is $7 per person. Free parking is available at the South Gondola parking garage with a code provided upon shuttle reservation. The shuttle runs from 5:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with the last shuttle leaving Quandary Peak at 4:30 PM. Outside the reservation period, parking at the trailhead is free and first-come, first-served. Parking is prohibited on nearby roads; violators may be fined $100.
