    From Breckenridge, drive south on CO-9 for approximately 2.3 miles to Spruce Creek Road (County Road #800). Turn right onto Spruce Creek Road and continue for 1.2 miles to the Spruce Creek Trailhead. The road is a dirt road. Parking is limited, and overflow parking is available along the road. Be aware that Spruce Creek Road is closed to motor vehicles from late November to late May. During this time, access to the trailhead is only possible by foot, snowshoe, or cross-country skis.

    While there is no direct public transportation to the trailhead, you can take the Blue River or Park County Commuter bus to the base of Spruce Creek Road and then walk or bike 1.6 miles up the road to the trailhead.
