Getting There

• Car

  If you are already in Bear Mountain State Park, head south on the main park road. Follow the signs for Route 9W South. Continue on Route 9W for about 8 miles until you reach the intersection with I-84. Merge onto I-84 East toward Danbury. Stay on I-84 for approximately 5 miles. Take exit 6 for Route 37 toward Danbury. Turn left onto Route 37 South and follow it for about 1.5 miles. Bear Mountain Reservation will be on your right at 17 Bear Mountain Rd, Danbury, CT 06811. There is no entry fee for the reservation.

  To reach Bear Mountain Reservation via public transport, first, you will need to catch a bus from Bear Mountain State Park. Look for the nearest bus stop and take the bus heading to Peekskill. Once in Peekskill, transfer to a bus that goes to the Danbury area. The buses are operated by Metro-North and CT Transit. Check the schedules ahead of time as they may be limited on weekends. After arriving in Danbury, you can either take a taxi or rideshare service to Bear Mountain Reservation at 17 Bear Mountain Rd.
