Public Bus
From downtown Bridgeport, head to the nearest bus stop. You can catch the CT Transit bus number 33 towards New Haven. The bus will take you along Main St. and then onto I-95 South. Stay on the bus for about 30 minutes, and get off at the stop for Whitney Ave. Once you disembark, walk north on Whitney Ave for about 5 minutes, and you will find the New Haven Museum at 114 Whitney Ave.
Train
Make your way to the Bridgeport train station located at 525 Water St. From there, take the Metro-North Railroad train towards New Haven. The train ride should take approximately 30 minutes. Upon arriving at the New Haven Union Station, exit the station and walk to the bus terminal. Take the CT Transit bus number 33 towards New Haven and get off at the Whitney Ave stop. The New Haven Museum will be a short 5-minute walk from the bus stop.
Bicycle
If you prefer cycling, rent a bike from one of the local bike-sharing services available throughout Bridgeport. Start from downtown Bridgeport and head east on Main St. to reach the waterfront. Follow the bike path along the shore, which will lead you to the bridge connecting to New Haven. Once you cross into New Haven, navigate to Whitney Ave. using bike lanes, and you will reach the New Haven Museum in about 30-40 minutes.
Walking
If you're up for a walk, start from downtown Bridgeport and head towards the train station. From there, you can walk along the coastline via the scenic route, which will take you through parks and along the water. This trek is quite long, approximately 10 miles, so it may take around 2-3 hours. Alternatively, you can take a bus or train part of the way, then walk the remaining distance from the bus/train stop to the museum.
