Getting There

• Car

  If you are driving from Eastern Connecticut, take I-95 South toward New Haven. Continue on I-95 South for approximately 30 miles. Take exit 47 toward US-1 S/State St. Merge onto State St/US-1 S. Continue on State St until you reach Temple St. Turn right onto Temple St, and you will find New Haven Green at 250 Temple St, New Haven, CT 06511. There is street parking available, but be aware that it may incur a parking fee, typically ranging from $1 to $2 per hour.

• Public Transportation - Train

  You can take the Shore Line East train from various locations in Eastern Connecticut, including Old Saybrook and New London. Purchase your ticket at the station or via the CT Rail app. Board the train heading to New Haven. The ride takes about 1 hour. Upon arrival at New Haven Union Station, exit the station and head east on Union Ave. Turn left onto State St, then continue straight until you reach Temple St. Turn right on Temple St, and you will arrive at New Haven Green, located at 250 Temple St. Note that train tickets typically cost around $15 to $25.

  To reach New Haven Green by bus, find your nearest bus station and look for services provided by CT Transit. Routes from Eastern Connecticut, such as the 918 or 999, often connect to New Haven. Buy your ticket from the bus driver (costing around $1.75). The buses will drop you off near the downtown area. Once you disembark, head towards Temple St, which is a short walk from the bus stop.
