Getting There

• Car

  If you're traveling by car, start by getting onto I-84 E from your current location. Follow I-84 E for about 10 miles and take exit 7 for CT-67 N toward New Milford. Continue on CT-67 N for approximately 5 miles until you reach the intersection with US-202. Turn left onto US-202 W and follow it for about 2 miles. Then, take a right onto Short Woods Rd. Lovers Leap State Park will be on your right at 178 Short Woods Rd, New Milford, CT 06776. Note that parking is available at the park.

• Public Transportation

  For those using public transportation, start by taking a Metro-North train from your nearest station to New Milford. Once you arrive at the New Milford train station, you can take a taxi or rideshare service to Lovers Leap State Park. The park is about 3 miles from the station, and you can expect to pay around $10-$15 for the taxi fare. Make sure to check the train schedule beforehand to ensure you have a timely connection.

• Bicycle

  If you prefer cycling, you can bike from New Milford. Start at the New Milford train station and head east on Railroad St. Merge onto US-202 W and cycle for about 2 miles. Turn right onto Short Woods Rd, and you'll find Lovers Leap State Park on your right. Be cautious as you share the road with vehicles, and ensure you wear a helmet for safety.

• Walking

  Walking to Lovers Leap State Park is an option if you are already in the vicinity. From downtown New Milford, head north on Main St toward US-202. Continue onto US-202 W for about 2 miles and then turn right onto Short Woods Rd. The park entrance will be on your right. This is about a 1-hour walk, so wear comfortable shoes and stay hydrated.
