From any central location in Greenwich, walk to the nearest bus stop that serves the Greenwich Avenue area. Look for a bus that goes towards New York City, such as the 10 or 30. Board the bus and ride it to the last stop in New York City, which typically is the Port Authority Bus Terminal. From the terminal, you can transfer to the MTA subway system.

Make your way to the Greenwich train station located on Arch Street. Purchase a ticket for the Metro-North Railroad train heading toward Grand Central Terminal in New York City. Once you arrive at Grand Central, follow the signs to the 42nd Street exit and walk to the nearby 5th Avenue subway station. From there, take the 5 train towards Brooklyn and get off at the 63rd Street station. From the station, it’s about a 10-minute walk to Heckscher Playground located at E 65th St.

If you're feeling adventurous, consider renting a bike. You can find bike rental stations throughout Greenwich. Once you have a bike, follow the scenic route along the shoreline toward New York City. Once you reach the city, use a bike lane to navigate towards Central Park. Heckscher Playground is located on the east side of Central Park, easily accessible from the bike lanes.

If you prefer to walk, start from the main street in Greenwich, Greenwich Avenue, and head towards the nearest bus stop to take the bus to New York City. Once you arrive in the city, you can walk from the Port Authority Bus Terminal to 8th Avenue, then stroll through the streets of Manhattan heading towards Central Park. It's about a 30-minute walk from the terminal to Heckscher Playground.
