Originally Massacoe State Forest, it was acquired to demonstrate forest fire control along railroads. Today, it features trails, a swimming pond, picnic areas, and a covered bridge, all designed with accessibility in mind.

Driving
From the center of Simsbury, head north on Routes 10/202. Continue for approximately 4.6 miles to the intersection of Route 309/167. Turn left onto Route 309 and continue for 1.6 miles. Stratton Brook State Park will be on your left. Parking is available in the park's lot. Non-residents should be prepared to pay a parking fee on weekends and holidays [$15].

Follow the Farmington River Trail to the Stratton Brook State Park Trail. The park is accessible via the trail, which passes by a covered bridge. Once inside the park, follow the paved paths to reach the main areas. Biking within the park is free, but be mindful of pedestrians and other trail users.
