Mattatuck Museum: Art and History Hub

The Mattatuck Museum, located in downtown Waterbury, Connecticut, has been a cornerstone of the community since its establishment as the Mattatuck Historical Society in 1877. Originally focused on preserving the history of Waterbury and its surrounding towns, the museum's mission expanded to include American art, with a particular emphasis on Connecticut artists. In addition to its art galleries, the Mattatuck Museum boasts a unique button gallery, displaying 15,000 miniature works of art from around the globe, a donation from the Waterbury Button Company.
