Getting There

• Car

  If you are driving from New Haven Harbor, get onto I-95 N or I-91 N. Follow signs for I-91 N and merge onto I-91 N. Take exit 3 for Trumbull Street toward East Rock. Continue on Trumbull Street, then turn left onto Orange Street. Follow Orange Street until it turns into East Rock Park, where you will find the Soldiers and Sailors Monument located at the top of the hill within the park. Parking is available at designated areas within East Rock Park, but be aware that there may be a parking fee depending on the time of year.

• Public Transportation

  For public transportation, you can take CTtransit bus number 204 from the New Haven Green (located in downtown New Haven). Board the bus heading towards East Rock Park. Get off at the East Rock Park stop. From the bus stop, you will need to walk up the path leading to the Soldiers and Sailors Monument, which is located at the top of the hill. • Walking

  If you are already near East Rock Park, you can walk to the Soldiers and Sailors Monument. Starting from the base of East Rock Park, take the main path that leads uphill. It is approximately a 30-minute walk to the top, where the monument is located. The walk is scenic and offers views of New Haven, making it a pleasant trek for those who enjoy nature.
