From downtown New Haven, head to the New Haven Green. Look for the CT Transit bus stop. Take the Route 66 bus towards Westport. The bus ride will take approximately 30-40 minutes. Get off at the Compo Beach stop. From there, follow the signposts directing you to Compo Beach, which is a short walk away.

Walk to the New Haven Union Station located at 50 Union Ave. Purchase a ticket for the Metro-North Railroad on the New Haven Line towards Grand Central Terminal. Get off at Westport station. It will take about 30 minutes. Upon arrival, exit the station and walk south on Compo Road South for about 20 minutes until you reach Compo Beach.

Bicycle
If you are feeling adventurous, you can rent a bicycle from one of the local rental shops in New Haven. Start by heading west on Chapel Street, then turn left onto Whitney Avenue. Follow Whitney Avenue until you reach the Westport border. Continue straight onto Compo Road South. Follow this road, and you will reach Compo Beach in approximately 50-60 minutes.

If you prefer to walk, you can start from downtown New Haven. Head towards the West Haven area by walking along the SCSU campus. Continue walking until you reach the West Haven train station, then follow the tracks along the South Norwalk area.
