• Public Transit

  To reach Seaside Beach in Bridgeport from New Haven using public transit, start by walking to the New Haven Union Station. From there, board the Metro-North Railroad train towards Grand Central Terminal. Make sure to check the train schedule as it can vary. You will need to get off at the Bridgeport station. Once you arrive at Bridgeport, exit the station and walk to the bus stop located right outside. Catch the Greater Bridgeport Transit bus number 4, which will take you towards Seaside Park. The bus ride will take approximately 20 minutes. Get off at the stop closest to Seaside Beach, and you will see the beach entrance a short walk away.

  If you prefer to cycle, you can rent a bike in New Haven. Head towards the East Coast Greenway, which is a bike path that connects various cities along the Eastern US. Follow the signs leading you towards Bridgeport. The ride is about 14 miles and will take you approximately 1 to 1.5 hours depending on your pace. Once you arrive in Bridgeport, follow the signs to Seaside Beach, which is located in Seaside Park.

  Walking to Seaside Beach from New Haven would be quite a trek, as it is approximately 14 miles away. If you're up for the challenge, you can start from the New Haven Green and head west on Chapel Street until you reach the intersection with State Street. Turn left onto State Street and continue walking straight. This will take you across the West River and into Bridgeport. Once you enter Bridgeport, you’ll want to navigate to Seaside Park by following the signs that lead you toward the waterfront. Be aware that this will take several hours and it is advisable to wear comfortable shoes and bring water.
