Situated on 4.5 acres of the 30-acre Taylor Farm Park, near Calf Pasture Beach and Shady Beach Park, this dog park provides a welcoming environment for canines to socialize and exercise. The park features two large, unfenced, open areas where dogs can roam freely. These areas are separated by a small wooded section, offering a change of scenery and exploration opportunities. The south side of the park includes a tidal pool, perfect for dogs who enjoy playing in the water. Picnic tables are available in both the north and south areas, providing shaded spots for owners to relax while their dogs play. Taylor Farm Park has a rich history, originally part of the Marvin-Taylor farm, which was operated by the Marvin-Taylor family for 130 years. Matthew Marvin, one of Norwalk's earliest residents, first bought 10 acres here in 1790. In 1968, William Marvin Taylor and Frederick Bradford Taylor sold the remaining family property to the city. In 1970, 30 acres became Taylor Farm Park, and 10 acres were designated for the new Marvin School. Today, Taylor Farm Dog Park remains a popular spot for dog owners in Norwalk, offering a space for their pets to run and play.
