From Stamford's downtown area, walk to the Stamford Transportation Center. Board the Metro-North Railroad's New Haven Line train heading toward Grand Central Terminal. Disembark at the Cos Cob station, which is approximately a 15-minute ride. Once you arrive at Cos Cob station, exit the station and walk south on Station Drive. Turn right onto E Putnam Ave (Route 1) and continue for about 0.5 miles. You will see a sign for Woolen Mill Pond Preserve on your left. Follow the trailhead into the preserve.

Bicycle
Start at the Stamford downtown area and head east on the bike path along the waterfront. Follow the path towards the Stamford Transportation Center and then connect to the bike lane on E Putnam Ave (Route 1). Continue cycling for about 3 miles towards Cos Cob. Keep an eye out for the sign that leads to Woolen Mill Pond Preserve on your left. The cycling route is relatively flat and should take around 20-30 minutes, depending on your pace.

If you're up for a longer walk, start in downtown Stamford and head east towards E Putnam Ave (Route 1). Walk along E Putnam Ave for approximately 2.5 miles. You will pass through some commercial areas, so be mindful of traffic. Keep an eye out for the entrance to Woolen Mill Pond Preserve on your left. The total walking distance is about 2.5 miles, which should take roughly 50 minutes to an hour.
