To reach Sleeping Giant State Park from downtown Waterbury, start by walking to the nearest bus stop for the Connecticut Transit bus. Board the CT Transit Route 220 bus heading towards New Haven. Stay on the bus for approximately 30 minutes until you reach the stop at 'Mount Carmel Avenue'. Once you get off the bus, walk north on Mount Carmel Avenue for about 0.5 miles, and you will arrive at the entrance of Sleeping Giant State Park.

If you prefer cycling, you can rent a bike from a local rental shop in Waterbury. From the center of Waterbury, head north on North Main Street. Continue on North Main Street until you reach the intersection with Hamden Road (CT-10). Turn right onto Hamden Road and follow it for about 3.5 miles until you reach Mount Carmel Avenue. Turn left onto Mount Carmel Avenue, and after about 0.5 miles, you will see the entrance to Sleeping Giant State Park.

For those who enjoy walking, start from the downtown area of Waterbury. Head north towards East Main Street, then turn left onto East Main Street. Continue walking until you reach the intersection with North Main Street, then turn right. Walk north along North Main Street for about 2.5 miles until you reach the intersection with Hamden Road. Turn left onto Hamden Road and follow it for about 1.5 miles. At the next intersection, turn left onto Mount Carmel Avenue. After about 0.5 miles, you will arrive at the entrance of Sleeping Giant State Park.
