Getting There

  • Car

    If you are traveling by car, start from the main village area in Atiu. Drive south on the main road towards the southern part of the island. Continue along the main road until you reach the junction near the Atiu Coffee Shop. Take a left turn at this junction. Follow the road until you reach the end of the road, where you'll find a small parking area. From the parking area, you will need to walk approximately 15 minutes through a well-trodden path to reach the Vai Nauri Water Cave entrance. Make sure to wear sturdy shoes, as the path can be uneven.

  • Public Transportation

    If you are using public transportation, check the local bus schedule for routes heading towards the southern part of the island. Buses may run less frequently, so be sure to plan accordingly. Get off at the stop nearest to the Atiu Coffee Shop. From there, you can either walk to the junction and take a left turn onto the dirt road leading to the parking area or ask a local for a ride. Once you reach the parking area, it will take about a 15-minute walk to the entrance of the Vai Nauri Water Cave.
