The beach is approximately 200 meters long, featuring soft, white sands and crystal-clear turquoise waters. Framed by lush greenery, it provides a picturesque backdrop for relaxation and exploration.
At low tide, visitors can explore three scenic sinkholes, creating a natural aquarium known as the Coral Garden, located west of Takauroa Beach. Fish become temporarily trapped, offering a unique snorkeling experience. The beach also holds historical significance as the site of a battle between Atiu warriors and Tahitian invaders. Two marae at Takauroa Landing mark the burial sites of warriors who defended the island.
