Getting There

Walking
From the center of Avarua, head towards the main road, Ara Tapu. Walk along the road heading east. You will pass the local shops and eateries. Continue straight for about 1.5 kilometers until you reach the roundabout. At the roundabout, take the second exit to continue on Ara Tapu. After a short distance, you will see a sign pointing towards Te Rua Manga (The Needle) on your right. Follow the trail from the sign, which leads you up to the attraction. The hike is moderately challenging but rewards you with stunning views.

If you're renting a bicycle in Avarua, start from the main square and head towards Ara Tapu. Cycle east along Ara Tapu for approximately 1.5 kilometers. At the roundabout, take the second exit and continue cycling until you see a sign for Te Rua Manga (The Needle) on your right. Park your bicycle at the designated area and follow the trail that leads up to the attraction.

Catch a local bus from the Avarua bus station that goes towards Avatiu. Ask the driver to let you know when you reach the stop for Te Rua Manga (The Needle). The journey takes around 10-15 minutes. Once you get off, follow the signs to the trailhead, which is a short walk from the bus stop.
