    From Avarua, the main town on Rarotonga, you can reach Muri Beach via the local bus service. The 'Clockwise' bus travels from Avarua to Muri Beach in approximately 15 minutes. Buses depart from the Paradise Inn station in Avarua. The bus will stop anywhere along the main road; simply wave to the driver. A single ride will cost around NZ$3.

    Taxis are readily available in Avarua and can take you directly to Muri Beach. The ride is approximately 12 minutes. Expect to pay around NZ$19-NZ$23 for the trip. Several taxi companies operate on the island, including Rainbow Taxi and Seeplus Taxi.
