Public Transport
From Limón, take the bus towards Cahuita, Hone Creek, or Puerto Viejo. Ask the driver to stop at the Sloth Sanctuary (Santuario de Perezosos), also known as Aviarios del Caribe. Look for the large yellow sloth crossing sign at the bus stop near the front gate. The bus fare is approximately ₡1,000 - ₡2,000. From the bus stop, it's a short walk to the sanctuary entrance.

From Limón, a taxi to the Sloth Sanctuary will cost approximately US$40. The ride takes about 30-45 minutes. Ensure the taxi driver knows the location, as it is a well-known landmark on Route 36. Negotiate the fare beforehand or ensure the meter is running.

From Limón, drive south on Route 36 for approximately 30 km. The Sloth Sanctuary (Aviarios del Caribe) will be on your left, marked with clear signage. Parking is available on-site. Remove all valuables from your vehicle. Driving time is approximately 30-45 minutes. Be aware that traffic and road conditions can affect travel time.
