Car
If you are driving, start from the main entrance of Cahuita National Park. Head south on the main road (Route 36) towards Cahuita village. After approximately 2 kilometers, turn right onto a dirt road after the Cahuita River crossing. Follow this road for about 1 kilometer until you reach the parking area near the trailhead. Park your car here and walk down the marked trail towards the waterfall, which is about a 20-minute hike.

Public Transportation
From the Cahuita National Park entrance, you can take a local bus heading towards Puerto Viejo. Ask the driver to drop you off at the junction for Secret Waterfall (often referred to as 'Catarata Secreta') which is about 5 kilometers from the park. Once you get off the bus, walk down the dirt road for approximately 1 kilometer to the waterfall trailhead. The hike takes about 20 minutes. Be sure to check the bus schedule for return times.

Walking
If you are staying within Cahuita village, you can walk to the Secret Waterfall. From the village center, head towards the entrance of Cahuita National Park and follow the directions for car travel. It’s a roughly 4-kilometer walk to the waterfall trailhead. The walk will take you about an hour, allowing you to enjoy the scenic views along the way.
