Getting There

• Driving

  If you're driving from any location in Central Valley, head towards San José. Take Route 1 (Interamericana) towards San José. As you approach the city, follow signs for Avenida 2. Turn onto Avenida 2 and continue straight until you reach Calle 5. The National Theater will be on your right at Avenida 2, C. 5, in the Catedral area. Parking may be available nearby but be prepared for parking fees, which can range from $1 to $5 per hour.

• Public Transportation - Bus

  If you prefer public transportation, locate a bus terminal in your area that offers routes to San José. Many buses from towns in Central Valley, such as Alajuela or Heredia, will take you directly to the San José bus terminal. Once you arrive at the terminal, exit and walk east towards Avenida 2. Turn left on Avenida 2 and walk until you reach Calle 5. The National Theater will be on your right. Bus fares vary but generally cost around $1 to $2.

• Taxi or Rideshare

  For a more direct route, consider taking a taxi or using a rideshare service like Uber. Simply provide the driver with the address: Avenida 2, C. 5, San José, Catedral. The drive should take approximately 30-45 minutes depending on traffic. Expect to pay around $20 to $30 for the ride.

• Walking from Central San José

  If you are already in the downtown area of San José, you can easily walk to the National Theater. From the central plaza, head east towards Avenida 2. Turn left on Avenida 2 and continue until you reach Calle 5. The theater will be on your right. This walk should take around 10-15 minutes.
