Getting There

Walking
Frijoles Locos is located next door to the west of Playa Grande School, approximately 700 meters from the beach. From the main beach access point, walk inland along the road. You'll pass shops and restaurants. Look for the Playa Grande School on your right; the shop is right next door. There are no costs associated with walking.

Taxi
If arriving from Tamarindo, a taxi is a readily available option. The ride is approximately 25 minutes and costs around $23-$28. Alternatively, a taxi from Liberia Airport to Playa Grande is about 45 minutes and costs $60-$80. Be sure to confirm the rate with the driver before starting your journey.

Car
If driving, follow the paved road from Tamarindo, taking a left in Villa Real, then another left in Huacas, and finally a left at the soccer field in Matapalo. Continue over the bridge to Playa Grande. Frijoles Locos will be on your left, past Kike's Place and at the corner where the little school sits. Parking is available in the area. Parking at the main entrance to Playa Grande costs approximately 2500 CRC.
