If you are driving from La Fortuna Waterfall to Arenal Sanctuary Reserve, start by heading south on Route 142 (Calle 462). Continue for about 3.5 km until you reach the intersection with Route 105. Turn left onto Route 105 and continue for approximately 2.5 km. The entrance to Arenal Sanctuary Reserve will be on your left. There is parking available on-site, so you can easily park your vehicle before exploring the reserve.

To reach Arenal Sanctuary Reserve using public transportation, take a local bus from La Fortuna Waterfall to La Fortuna town center. Buses run frequently and cost around 500-1,000 CRC (Costa Rican Colón). Once you arrive in La Fortuna, you can catch a taxi or a shuttle to Arenal Sanctuary Reserve. Taxi fares may range from 3,000 CRC to 5,000 CRC depending on the exact pickup location and time.

For the more adventurous, renting a bicycle in La Fortuna is a great way to reach Arenal Sanctuary Reserve. Head south on Route 142 (Calle 462) for about 3.5 km, then turn left onto Route 105 and continue for another 2.5 km. The entrance will be on your left. Be sure to wear a helmet and bring water, as this route includes some hills.
