Public Bus
From Manuel Antonio, head to the nearest bus stop located along the main road (Avenida 3). Look for a bus heading to San Isidro de El General. The journey will take about 1.5 to 2 hours. Inform the bus driver that you want to get off at the turn-off for Eco Chontales Waterfall (ask for 'Chontales'). It’s a popular destination, so they should know where it is.

Hiking
Once you get off the bus at the Chontales turn-off, walk along the dirt road (Unnamed Road) for about 1.5 kilometers. You will pass some local homes and farms. Keep an eye out for signs or locals who can provide directions. The path will lead you to a trailhead entrance for the Eco Chontales Waterfall. Be prepared for some steep sections along the way.

If you're not comfortable hiking alone, consider hiring a local guide once you reach the Chontales turn-off. There are often guides available at that point, and they can lead you directly to the waterfall while providing information about the area and its wildlife.

After reaching the waterfall entrance, follow the marked trails that descend toward the waterfall. The hike may take around 20-30 minutes, and you will encounter some beautiful scenery along the way. Make sure to wear comfortable shoes and stay hydrated!
