From Juan Santamaría International Airport (SJO) near San Jose, drive approximately 3.5 hours south on the InterAmerican Highway, then take Ruta 27 (toll road) to the coast. Continue south on Ruta 34 (Pacific Coast Highway) to Dominical. Be aware that the drive can take longer depending on traffic. Parking is available near the beach, with both free and paid options.

From San Jose, take a Tracopa bus directly to Dominical. Buses depart from the Tracopa bus terminal (Calle 5) at 6:00 AM and 3:00 PM, costing around $15 USD per person. The journey takes approximately 4 hours. Alternatively, take a bus to Quepos or San Isidro and transfer to a local bus to Dominical. From Quepos, the bus ride to Dominical is about 1 hour and 15 minutes and costs around $3.

A taxi or shared shuttle from Quepos/Manuel Antonio Airport (XQP) to Dominical takes approximately 30 minutes and costs around $50 USD by taxi. A private shuttle from Manuel Antonio to Dominical starts around $153 USD for up to six passengers. Shared shuttles are also available from Manuel Antonio for around $45 USD per person. A taxi from San Jose to the Tracopa bus terminal costs less than $10 USD.
