From downtown Santa Elena, take the public bus that travels to the Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve. The bus departs from Banco Nacional at 6:15 AM, 7:30 AM, 9:30 AM, 1:20 PM, and 3 PM. The cost is approximately 700 CRC per way. The bus will drop you off at the Harriot Powell Visitor Center, where you will then board the shuttle to the reserve entrance.
