Walking
From the center of Puerto Viejo, walk along the main road (Pavón) heading south towards Playa Chiquita. Continue straight for about 1.5 kilometers until you reach a fork in the road. Take the left path towards the coast (this road is called 'Pavón Road'). After approximately 1 kilometer, you will see signs indicating 'Refugio Nacional Gandoca-Manzanillo'. Keep following the signs until you arrive at the refuge entrance, which is located at J869+WPR, 36, Limón Province.

Bicycle Rental
Rent a bicycle from one of the local shops in Puerto Viejo. Once you have your bike, ride along the main road (Pavón) heading south towards Playa Chiquita. After about 1.5 kilometers, you will reach a fork in the road; take the left path towards the coast (Pavón Road). Continue cycling for about 1 kilometer, and look for signs pointing to 'Refugio Nacional Gandoca-Manzanillo.' Follow these signs until you arrive at the entrance at J869+WPR, 36, Limón Province.

Public Transport (Bus)
From Puerto Viejo, head to the bus stop located near the center of town. Take a bus heading towards Manzanillo. The bus ride will take about 30-40 minutes. Ask the driver to drop you off at the 'Refugio Nacional Gandoca-Manzanillo' stop or the nearest stop to the refuge entrance. Once you get off, follow the signs to the refuge which is a short walk away at J869+WPR, 36, Limón Province.
