Car
From the entrance of Rincon de la Vieja National Park, head east on the main road (Route 1) towards La Fortuna. After approximately 30 kilometers, follow the signs leading you onto Route 142. Continue on this road for about 15 kilometers until you reach La Fortuna. Look for signs to Fortuna Waterfall, which will direct you to the parking area located near the entrance. Be aware that there may be an entrance fee of around $15 per person to access the waterfall area.

Public Transportation
Start at the nearest bus stop in Rincon de la Vieja National Park and take a bus heading towards Liberia. After about 30 minutes, transfer at Liberia to a bus heading to La Fortuna (this may require a wait time). Once in La Fortuna, you can either walk or take a taxi to the Fortuna Waterfall entrance, which is approximately 5 kilometers away from the town center. Expect to pay around $15 for the bus fare and an additional $10-$15 for a taxi if you choose that option.
