From the main entrance of Santa Rosa National Park, take Route 1 (Interamericana) north toward Liberia. At the junction, take the left fork onto Route 160. Follow Route 160 for about 15 km until you see the signs for Matapalo Beach. Turn right onto the unpaved road that leads to the beach.
