    If you are traveling by car, start your journey on Route 34 (Interamericana Highway) heading north from Quepos or south from Liberia. Once you reach the town of Hojancha, exit onto Route 160. Continue on Route 160 for approximately 15 km until you reach the entrance road to Cerro Platanillo. Be prepared for a winding road as you approach the mountain. There are no tolls on this route, but make sure your vehicle is in good condition for the mountainous terrain.

  • Public Transportation

    To reach Cerro Platanillo using public transportation, first take a bus from Quepos or Manuel Antonio to Hojancha. Buses run several times a day, and the fare is approximately 3,000-4,000 CRC (Costa Rican Colones). Once you arrive in Hojancha, you will need to hire a taxi or a local shuttle service to take you to the base of Cerro Platanillo, which is about 15 km away.
