Driving
From Tamarindo, take the road south towards Hacienda Pinilla. Follow the signs to Hacienda Pinilla, then continue for approximately 3 kilometers to Playa Avellanas. The drive is about 30 minutes. Be prepared for some unpaved, bumpy roads. Once you arrive at Playa Avellanas, you can park in the public parking lot near Lola's Restaurant. Parking costs 2000 CRC for cars and 1000 CRC for motorcycles. Alternatively, you can park along the road leading up to Lola's. Arrive early to get a closer spot.
Taxi
From Tamarindo, a taxi to Playa Avellanas typically costs between $26 and $32 USD. The journey takes approximately 28 minutes. You can arrange a taxi through your hotel or a local taxi service. Be sure to confirm the price before you begin your journey.
