If you're driving from Quepos, take Route 34 (Costanera Sur) heading north. Continue on this road for about 37 kilometers until you reach the town of Puntarenas. From there, take Route 21 towards Liberia. After about 25 kilometers, take a right onto Route 150 towards Playa Carrillo. Follow this road until you see signs for Playa Puerto Carrillo, which is about 10 kilometers from the turn-off. Parking is available at the beach, but be prepared for a parking fee of approximately $2-5.

To reach Playa Puerto Carrillo by bus, you will need to take a bus from Quepos or Manuel Antonio to Samara. Buses leave frequently from the main terminal in Quepos. The journey takes about 2.5 to 3 hours and costs approximately $5-7. Once you arrive in Samara, you can take a taxi or local bus to Playa Puerto Carrillo, which is about 10 kilometers away.
