Walking
From the center of Tamarindo, start at the main entrance of Tamarindo Beach. Head northwest along the beachfront path, enjoying the view. Continue walking until you reach the end of the beach. Once there, look for signs that direct you toward 'Playa Junquillal' or 'Verdiazul Turtle Hatchery' which are usually near the sandy area. The hatchery is located approximately 5 km from the Tamarindo beach entrance, and the walk should take around 1-1.5 hours depending on your pace.
Bicycle Rental
Rent a bicycle from one of the many shops in Tamarindo. Once you have your bike, head north along the main road (Route 155) towards Playa Junquillal. Follow the road signs towards 'Playa Junquillal.' The ride is about 5 km and should take around 20-30 minutes. Upon reaching Junquillal, look for the Verdiazul Turtle Hatchery signs directing you to the facility located near the beach access.
Public Transport
Take a local bus from the Tamarindo bus station to Santa Cruz. Buses typically leave every hour. After arriving in Santa Cruz, you can catch another bus heading towards Junquillal or ask locals for directions. Once you arrive in Junquillal, follow signs or ask for directions to the Verdiazul Turtle Hatchery, which is usually accessible by a short walk from the bus stop.
