From La Fortuna town center, a taxi ride to La Fortuna Waterfall costs around $10-$15 USD. The journey is short, approximately 5 km, taking less than 10 minutes. Taxis are readily available in town.
Driving
If driving from La Fortuna, follow well-maintained roads for approximately 5 km. GPS navigation is reliable. Parking is available at the entrance and is included in the entrance fee. No 4WD is needed.
Walking
For those who enjoy hiking, it's possible to walk from La Fortuna to the waterfall, a distance of about 5 km. Be prepared for a walk of approximately 1 hour. There is no public bus service to the waterfall.
