Discover Zagreb's Stone Gate: a historic passage transformed into a sacred shrine, where faith and history intertwine.
The Stone Gate (Kamenita Vrata), the only remaining gate of old Zagreb, is now a revered shrine. A 1731 fire destroyed the gate, but a painting of the Virgin Mary and Child miraculously survived, transforming the gate into a chapel and a site of pilgrimage.
Opening times, essentials, and a few local tips gathered into one calmer, easier-to-scan planning section.

The Stone Gate is easily accessible on foot from Ban Jelačić Square, Zagreb's central square. Head north through Radićeva Street, and you'll find the Stone Gate. The walk is short and allows you to explore the charming streets of Zagreb's Upper Town.
