Marjan Hill itself is a unique landmark, a peninsula covered in a dense Mediterranean pine forest, completely surrounded by the city and the sea. This harmonious blend of natural and urban landscapes makes it a must-visit destination.Marjan Hill has been a beloved natural retreat for the people of Split for centuries. Originally used as a park as early as the 3rd century, it has evolved into a favorite weekend excursion destination and a recreational center for the city. The hill stands 178 meters (584 feet) tall, offering views of the city, nearby islands, and the mountains of Mosor and Kozjak.Visitors can explore numerous walking, jogging and hiking trails. The highest peak, Telegrin, was named after the optical telegraph used during the French administration in Dalmatia (1806-1813). Today, the Croatian flag proudly flies on Telegrin.
