Getting There

  • Driving

    From Pakoštane, drive 2.4 km in the direction of Vrana on the Adriatic Highway. The info center is located on the right side of the road, approximately 200 meters after the car camp. Parking is available at the info center. Parking is free during operating season.

  • Public Transport

    Take the bus line Zadar – Prosika or Šibenik – Prosika along the Adriatic Highway. Get off near Pakoštane and walk or take a local bus towards Vrana. The info center is a short distance from the main road. Bus fares vary depending on the origin and destination, but a short trip should cost approximately 2-4 EUR.

  • Electric Train

    An electric tourist train runs from Pakoštane to the Crkvine Info Center. The departure point in Pakoštane is from Kralja Petra Svačića street. The train runs based on reservation (3 days in advance). The price is 2.5 EUR per adult.

Located between Pakoštane and Vrana, the Crkvine Info Center is the main access point for exploring the ornithological reserve in the northwestern part of Vransko Lake Nature Park. The ornithological reserve is home to over 260 bird species, some of which are endangered. The 600-meter wooden trail winds through reed beds, offering opportunities to observe various bird species, including the Purple Heron and Pygmy Cormorant. A birdwatching tower at the end of the trail allows for deeper exploration of this avian paradise. The info center also provides insights into the park's broader ecological significance, as a designated Important Bird Area in Europe and a Ramsar Wetland of International Importance. Visitors can learn about the lake's unique brackish water ecosystem, which supports both freshwater and marine species. The center is open seasonally, typically from April to October.
