Kozlović Winery: A Modern Istrian Wine Experience

Nestled in the Vale Valley near Momjan, the Kozlović Winery offers a unique blend of tradition and modernity, with roots tracing back to 1904 when the Kozlović family settled in the area. For generations, the family cultivated vineyards and produced wine. In 1990, Anton Kozlović transformed the family tradition into a commercial winery. Today, run by the fourth generation, Antonella and Gianfranco Kozlović, the winery is celebrated for its commitment to quality and passion for winemaking. The winery's architecture seamlessly blends contemporary elements with its natural surroundings. The modern, three-story cellar, completed in 2012, is built into the hillside, incorporating ecological principles and sustainable practices such as a living roof. Inside, stainless steel tanks and meticulously maintained oak barrels reflect a commitment to quality. Kozlović Winery owns and manages over 25 hectares of vineyards, emphasizing indigenous Istrian grape varieties such as Malvazija Istriana, Teran, and Muscat. Their flagship white wine, Malvazija Istriana, captures the region's character with its vibrant acidity, minerality, and notes of ripe citrus and white flowers. The winery also experiments with international varieties like Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, and Merlot, skillfully blending tradition with innovation. Visitors can explore the winery through various tasting experiences, including tours of the production areas, barrique cellar, and aging areas. The tasting room and outdoor deck offer awe-inspiring views of the vineyards and surrounding Istrian landscape.
