Biokovo Mountain: Where the Sea Meets the Sky

Biokovo Mountain, a natural wonder rising above the Makarska Riviera, is the highest mountain in Dalmatia and the second highest in Croatia. Declared a nature park in 1981, it spans 196 square kilometers and offers a dramatic landscape of karst formations, including sinkholes, caves, and cliffs. Today, Biokovo is a popular destination for hikers, cyclists, and nature lovers.The Biokovo Nature Park boasts five major viewpoints, each offering unique perspectives. The most famous is the Skywalk Biokovo, a horseshoe-shaped glass platform that extends 11 meters over a cliff, providing breathtaking views of the Adriatic Sea and nearby islands. Other attractions include the Vošac peak, the Sveti Jure peak (the highest point on the mountain), the Kotišina Botanical Garden, and numerous hiking trails.Visitors can explore the park by car, bike, or on foot, but the Biokovo Road, a narrow, winding road leading to the summit, requires careful driving.
