Walking
From the center of Makarska, head towards the waterfront promenade known as 'Riva'. Walk along the promenade heading east until you reach the end where you will find the main road (D8). Continue straight on this road, passing by various shops and cafes. When you reach the roundabout, take the second exit onto the road leading towards Tučepi. Keep walking straight for about 2 kilometers until you see signs pointing to Stari Grad. Follow the signs, and you will arrive at Stari Grad, which is located near the coast.
Public Transport
From the main bus station in Makarska, take a local bus heading towards Tučepi. Make sure to confirm with the driver that the bus stops in Stari Grad. The bus ride should take approximately 10-15 minutes. Once you arrive in Stari Grad, disembark at the main bus stop, and from there, it’s just a short walk to the historic area. Follow the signs or ask locals for directions to the main attractions in Stari Grad.
Biking
If you're renting a bicycle, start from the Makarska city center and head towards the coastal road. Follow the shoreline on the bike path towards the east, passing through scenic views of the Adriatic Sea. After about 2 kilometers, you will reach Stari Grad.
