The Wings Monument, also known as the Seagull Wings (Galebova krila), is a poignant memorial park in Podgora, Croatia, blending artistic beauty with historical significance. The monument commemorates the founding of the Partisan navy in Podgora during World War II and honors those who lost their lives in the struggle against fascism. Erected in 1962, the monument consists of two large, stylized concrete 'gull wings' set on a polished marble platform. One wing extends straight up, reaching 32 meters, symbolizing the climb to victory, while the other is bent, representing the fallen.Designed by sculptor Rajko Radović, the monument was unveiled by President Josip Broz Tito on the 20th anniversary of the Yugoslav Navy's founding. The monument held significant importance as a WWII commemorative site in the Dalmatian region. Today, it stands as a reminder of the community's enduring spirit, inviting visitors to contemplate the sacrifices made.The surrounding area features landscaped gardens and walking paths leading to the beach, with local cafes nearby.
