Discover more about Moslavina Museum

The Moslavina Museum, situated in the heart of Kutina, is a treasure trove of cultural and historical artifacts from the Moslavina region. The museum is located in the former country castle of Counts Erdödy, a baroque rectangular mansion constructed in the mid-18th century. The building's original baroque design was altered during a historicist restoration in 1895, giving it the appearance it has today. The museum was established on March 15, 1960, originally named the Museum and Archive of the People's Revolution of Moslavina. In 1963, it was renamed the Moslavina Museum, expanding its focus to include archeology and ethnology, in addition to its existing historical department. A gallery department was added in 1972. The museum's collections are divided into four permanent exhibits: archeological, cultural-historical, ethnographic, and gallery. These exhibits showcase a wide array of museum pieces from the museum's 24 collections, providing a comprehensive overview of Moslavina and its surrounding areas. Visitors can explore exhibits detailing the region's history, traditional clothing and textiles, and artistic achievements. The Gallery Department, located in the former palace of the Ausch family, hosts a permanent exhibition and also presents occasional exhibitions, promotions, workshops, and lectures. The museum collects, processes, presents, and publishes the cultural and historical treasures of the Moslavina area. It is a vital institution for understanding the region's past and present.
