Discover more about Park forest Zlatni Rt

Park Forest Zlatni Rt, also known as Punta Corrente, is one of the most beautiful landscapes in western Istria, Croatia. Located a mere 15-minute walk from Rovinj's city center, this 52-hectare park provides a refreshing escape with its diverse plant species and cool shade. The park's history dates back to the late 19th century when Trieste entrepreneur Georg Hütterott began transforming the area into a forest park. Hütterott enriched the landscape with both native and exotic plant varieties, including pine trees, cypresses, and laurel trees. He also added exotic species such as Lebanese cedar, Douglas fir, and Ginkgo biloba. A notable feature is the arrangement of tall Himalayan cedars in a six-pointed star near Punta Corrente Meadow. Today, Zlatni Rt offers well-maintained trails for walking, jogging, and cycling. Visitors can explore rocky beaches, swim in the clear Adriatic Sea, and enjoy activities like rock climbing. The park's blend of natural beauty and recreational opportunities makes it a unique and cherished destination. It was designated a protected area in 1948 and a forest park in 1961.
